‘Pet Dog Playground’ Open During Cultural Festival Period
Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province announced on the 19th that it will hold the "2nd Companion Animal Culture Festival" in front of the ticket booth at Jaraseom Jungdo from October 21 to October 13.
Held in conjunction with the Jaraseom Flower Festa (Autumn), this festival offers a variety of programs where visitors can experience companion culture, including △companion animal playground △behavior correction expert training △caricature drawing △snap photo events △grooming education.
The "Companion Dog Playground," which will be open throughout the festival period, features internationally standardized agility structures such as hurdles, weave poles, tunnels, and seesaws, encouraging various activities for small, medium, and large dogs.
On Saturdays and Sundays during this period, a "Professional Seminar" will be held where expert trainers provide on-site consultations and training to resolve questions about companion animals. One-on-one customized consultations on companion animal etiquette, health care, proper walking methods, and clicker training will also be available.
Especially on Saturdays, various experiential programs to enjoy companion culture will be held over three days. Additionally, on the 28th, a character artist will personally draw caricatures of companion animals in the "Companion Dog Caricature" event.
On October 5, a photographer will take pictures with Jaraseom as the background and provide the original photos via email. On the 12th, hygiene and grooming education for companion dogs will be conducted, covering facial care, ear cleaning, brushing methods, and nail care.
A Gapyeong-gun official stated, "We have prepared these programs to foster a proper companion animal culture and promote enjoyable companion culture through exchanges among companion families," and urged visitors to "always wear a leash on companion dogs and use a muzzle for aggressive dogs, adhering to pet etiquette."

Meanwhile, Gapyeong-gun is holding the Jaraseom Flower Festa until the 13th of next month. Selected as a Gyeonggi tourism festival for two consecutive years, this representative festival of Gapyeong-gun welcomes visitors with cockscomb, Korean chrysanthemum, pink muhly, pampas grass, dahlia, and sunflowers spread over 86,534㎡ of Jaraseom Namdo.
