Chungnam Province to Host Esports Tournament for Youth and Office Workers

858 Teenagers and 201 Office Workers Participate

The Chungnam Governor's Cup Youth and Workplace E-sports Tournament will be held in Asan, Chungnam on the 21st and 22nd.

This tournament will feature 858 youth participants and 201 workplace participants, with teams that pass the preliminaries advancing to the finals, which will be held in a group league format.

The game titles include League of Legends, Brawl Stars, Valorant, and StarCraft.

The top three teams in each category will receive awards from the Chungnam Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency and prize money.

During the tournament, various events such as VR and AR game experience booths and performances will be available for spectators.

Song Mugyeong, Director of the Chungnam Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said, "We have prepared a variety of events to expand the e-sports culture in Chungnam and increase public interest," adding, "We will do our best to lead the e-sports industry, including the opening of the nation's first permanent e-sports stadium in 2026."
