Hana Bank Opens 'Pyeongtaek Foreigners Center Branch' Exclusively for Foreign Customers

Hana Bank announced on the 19th that it has opened the foreigner-exclusive specialized branch, "Pyeongtaek Foreigner Center Branch," located in Pyeongtaek-dong, Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do.

The Pyeongtaek Foreigner Center Branch was established to enhance financial transaction accessibility and provide specialized financial services for foreigners working and residing in the southern Gyeonggi region, including Pyeongtaek, Hwaseong, and Anseong, where many multinational foreigners live.

Exclusively operated for foreign customers, the Pyeongtaek Foreigner Center Branch has introduced ▲ AI-based real-time multilingual interpretation system ▲ digital devices guiding foreign customers through banking procedures ▲ multilingual Western-style form assistance programs to improve the convenience of multinational foreign customers. Foreign customer service staff are also assigned.

In particular, the real-time multilingual interpretation service currently supports 38 languages, including English, Thai, and Malay. When foreign customers and bank staff speak in their native languages, the conversation is displayed in the other party’s language on a transparent display through a device.

Additionally, to provide financial transaction convenience for foreign workers who find it difficult to visit the bank on weekdays, weekend operations are conducted every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Furthermore, a separate community space exclusively for foreigners has been created inside the branch. In collaboration with foreigner support organizations in the Pyeongtaek area, it can be used as a global gathering place where various educational and social activities necessary for Korean life, such as Korean language classes for foreigners, are available.

The opening ceremony was attended by Kim Hyun-jung, National Assembly member (Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek-si B), Jeong Jong-pil, CEO of the Pyeongtaek International Exchange Foundation, Lee Seung-yeol, Hana Bank President, and Jeon Woo-hong, Head of Hana Bank Central Sales Group, among others, to celebrate the opening.

The president stated, “Hana Bank will continue to innovate foreigner-specialized services so that foreign customers who have made Korea their home and are pursuing their dreams can use financial services easily and conveniently.”
