Since Taking Office in February This Year, Striving to Foster a Positive Corporate Culture
Since his appointment as CEO of Dongyang Life Insurance in February, CEO Moon-Gu Lee has been leading an internal praise campaign to foster a positive corporate culture.
According to Dongyang Life Insurance on the 19th, since his inauguration, CEO Lee has created various communication opportunities among employees such as ‘CEO Roundtable’, ‘Connect Meeting’, and ‘Lightning Gatherings’. Since May, under his leadership, the ‘Let’s Praise’ campaign to spread a culture of praise within the company has been actively underway. CEO Lee has been with Dongyang Life Insurance for 32 years, having joined in 1992.

Right after his appointment, CEO Lee established a dedicated internal bulletin board to actively promote the praise campaign. Employees who give or receive many praises are continuously encouraged through various rewards. Employees who give the most praises are also given the campaign’s biggest reward: an opportunity for overseas training. This reflects CEO Lee’s management philosophy that ‘praising others’ delivers positive energy to the recipient and also positively influences the person giving the praise. Giving many praises is like providing nourishment for one’s own growth. The more employees like this there are, the healthier the entire organization can grow, according to CEO Lee.
As of the end of last month, four months after the campaign started, a total of 730 praise posts have been submitted on the internal ‘Let’s Praise’ bulletin board. As the campaign continues, the number of praises exchanged between the headquarters and sales sites is increasing. This has led to positive effects such as easing mutual interests between the headquarters and sales sites. An employee of Dongyang Life Insurance who participated in the campaign said, “Everyone wants to be recognized and respected, and even small recognition among employees gives energy to work. Usually, it was difficult for headquarters staff and sales site staff to communicate because they work in different locations, but through this opportunity, it is good to be able to express gratitude to each other.”
Dongyang Life Insurance plans to continue various internal campaigns like the ‘Let’s Praise’ campaign to strengthen communication and mutual trust among employees in order to create a company with a positive corporate culture where employees enjoy working. Currently, Dongyang Life Insurance is also running campaigns such as ‘Let’s Suggest’ and the ‘ChatGPT Work Improvement Idea Festival’ to foster an internal culture of work innovation and encourage employees to acquire new technologies and cultures.
