Goyang City to Host '2024 Goyang Youth Day Event'

Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 19th that it will hold the "2024 Goyang Youth Day" event at 4 p.m. on the 28th at the outdoor stage of La Festa in Ilsan.

This event is a youth-led participatory event in which young people participate from the planning stage to reminisce about La Festa, a bustling area in the 2000s, and to promote the revitalization of the commercial district.

At the event, attendees can enjoy a photo contest recalling the teenage years of youths who have memories of La Festa and watch performances by young artists. Experience and promotional booths such as Earth Arcade, job opportunities, military service career planning, and Mind Healing Space will also be operated, creating a participatory space where young people can empathize and heal.

Additionally, on the day of the event, a stamp book will be created to encourage participation from La Festa merchants through a collaborative event.

Choi Chang-won, Chairperson of the Youth Committee, said, "I am pleased to include the voices of the youth, who are the main agents of Youth Day, and since we prepared the collaborative event with La Festa merchants by actively engaging on the ground, I hope it becomes a festival where everyone prospers together."
