September 25th, 2 PM, Songpa Book Museum 1st Floor ▲ Book Culture Lecture with Poet Park Jun
Two Family Education Programs Operated Every Weekend Until December 7th
Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that it will operate family-oriented educational programs that can be enjoyed with children at the Songpa Book Museum from September 21 to December 7, welcoming the reading season.
The district has prepared various reading culture experience programs so that local residents can enjoy their leisure time with their families at the museum through the Songpa Book Museum.
First, on September 25 at 2 PM, a 'Book Culture Lecture' will be held at the Eoullim Hall on the first floor of the Songpa Book Museum, inviting poet Park Jun. This lecture, themed "Writing Thoughts, Reading Hearts," will be free of charge.
Poet Park Jun debuted in 2008 with "Silcheonmunhak" and has published works such as "I Named You and Ate It for a Few Days," "We Might Watch the Rainy Season Together," and "We Are Goodbye." He is widely known to the public through broadcasting activities, including hosting CBS Music FM's "Starting Night with Park Jun."
Additionally, from September 21 to December 7, two weekend educational programs will be operated for family visitors. The tuition fee is 3,000 KRW per child.
First, "Yorijori, We Are Book Chefs" is a cultural arts education program for children aged 6 to 7. It offers an experience of making books by comparing the process of making bibimbap to the method and components of book creation. Families can make a playbook together to understand the book production process and develop interest in books.
"Come to the Joseon Era Book Rental Shop!" is a popular educational program at the Songpa Book Museum targeting elementary school students in grades 1 to 3. Through various missions to become a child employee of a book rental shop that lent books for rent during the Joseon Dynasty, participants can understand the book culture of the late Joseon period and experience making books using the traditional Joseon binding method called Ochiman Jeongbeop.
The district expects that through this program, the whole family will understand book culture together and especially experience various cultural arts related to books.
Applications for lectures and education can be found on the Songpa Book Museum website.
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, "As the season is perfect for reading books, we have prepared various family-oriented experience programs for residents," adding, "I hope families will spend a joyful autumn day experiencing meaningful activities together through the Songpa Book Museum."
