Dobong-gu Creates 134m Long, 2m Wide Ochre Path at Choansan Neighborhood Park... 6.8km Nearby Forest Trail Also Renovated
Cooling Fog and Other Facilities Installed to Enhance Ochre Path Management Efficiency
Ochre Foot Bath, Ochre Ball Bath, and Various Convenience Facilities Including Foot Washing Stations Provided
Dobong-gu (District Mayor Oh Eon-seok) has created a 134-meter round-trip loess trail at 677 Changdong, near Choansan Neighborhood Park.
The newly constructed loess trail features Seoul's first floor spray-type cooling fog system designed to maintain the texture of the loess soil.
The district completed the loess trail at Choansan Neighborhood Park and held an opening ceremony on September 9. About 300 people, including Dobong-gu Mayor Oh Eon-seok, city and district council members, the president and members of the Barefoot Walking National Movement Headquarters, attended the event to celebrate the opening.
The loess trail, 2 meters wide and 134 meters round-trip, includes a loess foot bath and a loess ball area. Additionally, 20 canopy structures were installed to block foreign substances such as soil, fallen leaves, and rainwater, along with floor spray-type cooling fog units to preserve the loess texture.
Other facilities for user convenience, such as foot washing stations, sitting wall blocks, and shoe racks, were also installed.
Prior to construction, the district underwent a thorough preparation process to ensure a high-quality loess trail. On February 27 of this year, a business agreement was signed with the Barefoot Walking National Movement Headquarters, and from the early stages of the project, opinions were gathered from over 2,000 residents and experts in related fields.
In particular, a resident demand survey was conducted on three options for loess selection and mixing ratios. The residents preferred a ratio of 6:2:2 for loess, sand soil, and additives, respectively.
Along with the loess trail construction, the district also maintained a 6.8 km forest trail around Changdong San 194-6, nearby. Stones causing inconvenience to walkers were removed, and leveling work such as soil excavation repairs was carried out.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, stated, “With the creation of the loess trail at Choansan Neighborhood Park and the maintenance of the forest trail around Changdong San 194-6, we have taken a step closer to completing the 21 km Dobong Dullegil, which encompasses Jungnangcheon, Choansan, and Dooly Ssangmun Park barrier-free forest trails. We will continue to do our best to develop related infrastructure so that residents can enjoy the pleasure of being close to nature within the city.”
