"No Solution Other Than Dialogue"
Han Dong-hoon, leader of the People Power Party, repeatedly urged participation in the ruling-opposition-medical-government (ruling party, opposition party, medical community, government) consultative body to resolve the medical crisis on the last day of the Chuseok holiday, the 18th.
During the Chuseok holiday, Han, who has been meeting with medical community figures to persuade them to participate in the consultative body, posted on his Facebook that “During the Chuseok holiday, I have been meeting individually with various medical community figures to hear their positions and ask them to participate in the ruling-opposition-medical-government consultative body. I have scheduled a meeting today as well.”
He said, “If the current medical situation is left as it is, it will not be resolved over time and will certainly become more difficult.”
He added, “Everyone must work together to find a solution now. It will be difficult to solve it all at once,” and emphasized, “We must have dialogue. There is no other solution besides dialogue.”
He also said, “The medical community figures I met during the Chuseok holiday were all concerned about the health and lives of the people and wanted to find solutions,” and “Regardless of the distrust accumulated between the medical and government sectors, they were deeply worried about the health and lives of the people and also suggested solutions as medical experts.”
Then he said, “I requested that such positions and constructive proposals be conveyed directly to the people through the consultative body between the ruling and opposition parties, which is being formed with difficulty,” and “I ask the government and the opposition party to take a more active and flexible stance. The ruling party will also make more efforts.”
