Chairman Jeong served as the head of the South Korean delegation to the Paris Olympics, bringing inspiration and joy to the public and residents during the Olympic period. He led a small elite team of 144 athletes to the Olympics. Under the banner of 'Athletes First,' the team won 13 gold, 9 silver, and 10 bronze medals, contributing to achieving 8th place overall and creating the miracle of Paris.
This achievement is the highest number of gold medals won at a single Olympic event with the smallest team in 48 years since the 1976 Montreal Olympics.
Chairman Jeong Gang-seon said, "I was happy and grateful to share the journey of the Olympics with our proud athletes," adding, "I will work harder and do my best to further develop Korean sports."
Meanwhile, at this event, Kim Woo-jin and Lim Si-hyeon, who won three gold medals in Olympic archery, were selected as the most valuable players.
