The Seoul Metropolitan Government has finalized the living wage for next year at 11,779 KRW per hour. This is a 3% increase from this year's living wage of 11,436 KRW and 1,749 KRW higher than the 2025 minimum wage of 10,030 KRW per hour, which was announced by the government last August.
On the 18th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that, after deliberation by the 'Seoul Living Wage Committee' composed of labor organizations and experts on the 9th, it comprehensively considered factors such as inflation rate and the city's financial conditions to finalize this living wage.
The newly confirmed Seoul living wage will be applied for one year starting January 1 of next year. The beneficiaries include ▲directly employed workers of Seoul city and its investment and contribution institutions ▲workers of subsidiaries of Seoul city investment institutions ▲workers of private consignment institutions (100% supported by city funds) ▲participants in attractive job programs, totaling about 14,000 people. Accordingly, those subject to the Seoul living wage will receive a monthly salary of 2,461,811 KRW (based on 40 hours of prescribed work per week, 209 hours per month).
