Last Year's Locally Produced Rice on Sale at Discount in 33 Locations
Ulsan City will launch a campaign to promote the purchase of locally produced rice at 33 Hanaro Mart locations starting on the 19th.
This event has been organized to support local agricultural cooperatives and farmers, as the sale of Ulsan-produced rice purchased last year has faced difficulties due to the influx of cheaper rice from other regions.
Consumers who visit any of the 33 Hanaro Mart stores operated by member cooperatives of the Nonghyup Bank Ulsan Regional Headquarters can purchase last year's locally produced rice at a discount of 10,000 KRW per bag. However, the event will continue only until the allocated budget is exhausted.
A total of 200 million KRW (80 million from the city, 60 million each from Buk-gu and Ulju-gun) has been allocated for this project, with support available for a total of 20,000 bags (20kg per bag).
Ulsan City expects that this event will help sell 400 tons of local rice, reduce rice inventory, and secure storage space for this year's public rice procurement.
An official from Ulsan City stated, "Since this event will benefit local farmers, we hope citizens will show active support and interest."
