"Diet Pills Had No Effect"...The Secret Revealed by a Man Who Lost 68kg

Weight 238kg... Diabetes, Hypertension, Chronic Pain
Facial Paralysis Recovery Took 1 Year... Became a Trigger for Weight Loss
"Diet Pills, No Effect... Need to Put in Time and Effort"

A man who weighed over 200 kg and suffered from complications has attracted attention after successfully losing about 68 kg.

On the 16th (local time), foreign media including the New York Post reported the story of Jose Matos (32), who lives in Utah, USA. He had an appetite that allowed him to finish three hamburgers, a large-sized fries, and a soda in one meal. Due to severe obesity, he suffered from several complications such as high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes, and lived with chronic pain all over his body, including his waist and knees.

One day, Matos experienced symptoms of Bell's palsy, a type of facial nerve paralysis, which caused paralysis on the right side of his face. This lasted for about three months, and it took a year to fully recover. The exact cause of the disease was not clearly identified, but obesity is known to be one of the risk factors. This incident became the turning point for him to start serious weight loss.

First, Matos improved his most important eating habits. Instead of processed foods, frozen foods, and fast food, he focused on consuming protein-rich foods such as fish and chicken. He also limited his carbohydrate intake and kept a detailed record of everything he ate to control excessive calorie consumption. Every Sunday at lunch, he prepared and ate a nutritious meal with his wife.

Along with dietary improvements, he also exercised. He started with walking 30 minutes a day, tried movements like squats at home, and registered at a gym to strengthen his upper and lower body muscles. After relentless effort, Matos was able to reduce his weight from 238 kg to 170 kg, losing 68 kg, and no longer takes diabetes or blood pressure medication. His case was even selected as a model example by a major fitness chain.

On July, Matos participated in a 5 km Spartan Race obstacle course and achieved a long-held goal. He said, "I am still working towards my target weight of 109 kg. I tried diet pills for several months, but they did not help much with weight loss and only caused side effects. I advise that it is better to invest time and effort instead."
