Holiday Special Dishes Not Announced Yet
Actor Yoo Ah-in (38, real name Eom Hong-sik) and singers Kim Ho-joong (32) and Kim Beom-su, chairman of Kakao's Management Innovation Committee, will spend the holidays in detention centers.
Yoo Ah-in and Kim Ho-joong's holiday meal on the day: 'Sujebi and Gondre rice'
According to the September meal schedule at Seoul Detention Center where Yoo Ah-in and Kim Ho-joong are held, on the morning of Chuseok, the 17th, breakfast includes bread and jam, soup, boiled eggs, and soy milk. Lunch consists of potato sujebi soup, stir-fried dried shredded squid, corn salad, and napa cabbage kimchi. Dinner features soybean paste stew, gondre rice with seasoning sauce, seasoned seaweed, and napa cabbage kimchi. Special Chuseok meals will also be provided. Last year, a mixed brown rice gangjeong was served, but this year's special menu has not yet been announced.
Yoo Ah-in was sentenced to one year in prison and fined 2 million won in the first trial on charges including violation of the Narcotics Control Act (psychotropic substances), marijuana smoking and instigation, and evidence tampering instigation on the 3rd of this month. He was taken into custody in court and has been detained at Seoul Detention Center for two weeks. Kim Ho-joong was arrested and indicted on June 18 on charges including dangerous driving causing injury and hit-and-run under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes, failure to take action after an accident under the Road Traffic Act, and aiding a fugitive. His detention was originally scheduled to expire last month, but the court extended it by two months, so he will spend the holiday at Seoul Detention Center. Kim Ho-joong is reported to have been assigned a single cell measuring 5.05㎡ (about 1.5 pyeong), roughly half the size of a goshiwon room. This room includes a flush toilet, washbasin, bedding, and TV. The TV can be watched for four hours from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., creating a relatively comfortable environment. Yoo Ah-in's detention conditions have not been disclosed.
Chairman Kim Beom-su also spends the holiday in detention... Eats 'Chicken Porridge and Tteokbokki'
At Seoul Southern Detention Center where Chairman Kim Beom-su is held, breakfast on Chuseok day includes chicken porridge, seasoned peeled garlic, water kimchi, and processed milk (such as chocolate milk). Lunch consists of tteokbokki, fried gim-mari (seaweed rolls), shiitake fish cake soup, and young radish kimchi. Dinner features stir-fried beef with mushrooms, soybean paste stew, seasoned pickled radish, and napa cabbage kimchi. Similarly, a special Chuseok meal is expected to be provided, but the specific menu has not been disclosed.
Chairman Kim Beom-su has been detained at Seoul Southern Detention Center since his arrest on July 23 on charges of market manipulation of SM Entertainment shares (violation of the Capital Markets Act). He is also held in a single cell. The cell size is about 1.4㎡ (approximately 0.4 pyeong), which is significantly smaller compared to a shared room (12.01㎡) used by 4 to 6 people.
