The Democratic Party of Korea criticized First Lady Kim Keon-hee's public activities on the 16th, saying, "Despite the harsh public criticism, Kim Keon-hee's shameless resumption of activities is pouring fuel on the boiling public sentiment."
Chief Spokesperson Cho Seung-rae stated in a written briefing, "Even during Chuseok, the President and his wife are mocking public sentiment with a showy display, which infuriates the people."

Cho pointed out, "The President's approval rating, which has fallen to its lowest since inauguration, reflects the harsh public sentiment," adding, "It is a natural consequence of President Yoon Seok-yeol's incompetent governance that has ruined people's livelihoods, caused a medical crisis through stubbornness and lack of communication, and yet shows no remorse."
He emphasized, "If this kind of obstinacy continues with statements like 'I will not be obsessed with approval ratings' and 'I will leave it to history's judgment,' the people's anger will explode," and warned, "This Chuseok public sentiment is the people's final warning to President Yoon and First Lady Kim."
In a statement the previous day, Chief Spokesperson Cho also criticized First Lady Kim for visiting a residential facility for children with disabilities during the Chuseok holiday to volunteer, saying, "The place Kim Keon-hee should be going now is the special prosecutor's investigation room."
