AI-Based Survey Service 'Don Beoneun Seolmun' Conducted
40% of 1,021 Respondents Prefer 'Resting at Home'
Over Half Consider Holiday Culture Changes "Rational"
According to the survey results of SK Telecom's AI-based survey service 'Money-Making Survey,' only 4 out of 10 people plan to visit their hometown during the Chuseok holiday period.
On the 15th, SKT's 'Money-Making Survey' results showed that among 1,021 respondents, only 42.1% answered that they "plan to visit their hometown or family and relatives during the Chuseok holiday period." This survey was conducted last month on the 21st targeting T Membership users. The percentage of respondents who answered "resting at home" was 40.3%.
When asked who they mainly plan to spend time with during the Chuseok holiday, 55.2% responded that they would spend it "with immediate family."
Regarding travel plans during the Chuseok holiday, 17.2% said they were "planning a trip," while 67.5% answered that they "have no travel plans."
Last year, 19.7% of respondents said they traveled domestically or abroad during Chuseok.
Only 40.6% responded that they perform ancestral rites during Chuseok, indicating that less than half of households observe traditional holiday ceremonies.
Regarding changes in Korean holiday customs such as the decrease in hometown visits, 55.2% responded that they think these changes are reasonable. More than half of those under their 60s thought the changes were reasonable, and even among those in their 70s and 80s, more respondents thought the changes were reasonable than those who felt regretful.
Meanwhile, the 'Money-Making Survey' used in this study can be participated in through the Mission tab within the T Membership app. Companies requesting surveys can set target groups and receive AI result analysis reports. Survey participants are rewarded with T Plus Points, which can be used at T Membership partner stores.
