Tzuyang's Side: "Fans' Support and Encouragement Are a Great Strength"
20 Malicious Commenters Reported for Violating the Information and Communications Network Act
The unfortunate recent situation of Tzuyang, a mukbang YouTuber with 10 million subscribers who has recently experienced many hardships including assault and threats from her ex-boyfriend, has been revealed.
On the 14th, YTN reported that Tzuyang's legal representative stated that after the threat incident, she was offered psychological treatment but declined and has been spending most of her time at home. The legal representative said, "Tzuyang usually loved eating so much that when we met in private, she would eat almost all the snacks and food while talking, but recently she has not been eating well and has lost 2 to 3 kg," adding, "The support and encouragement from her fans are the greatest strength for her." Currently, Tzuyang has not been active since uploading a video titled "This is my last explanation video" on the 1st of last month. However, the video still has supportive comments from netizens such as "Always cheering for you," "Don't worry about uploading videos, just stay healthy," and "Never show mercy to malicious commenters."
He also stated, "There have been many false rumors and excessive insulting remarks about Tzuyang, and we judged that we could no longer overlook this, so we wanted to take legal action and proceeded with filing a complaint." On the 10th, Tzuyang’s side filed complaints against 20 malicious commenters at the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul for violating the Information and Communications Network Act and defamation.
Earlier, in July, Tzuyang claimed through a YouTube live broadcast that she had been subjected to assault, threats, and extortion for four years by A, the CEO of her agency and her ex-boyfriend. Tzuyang revealed, "It was a hellish time," and "I broadcast almost every day while being beaten."
During this process, YouTubers Gujeyeok (real name Lee Junhee), Jujakgambalsa, Karakula, who are accused of threatening Tzuyang to extort tens of millions of won and abetting it, were indicted last month at the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office and are currently on trial. Lawyer Choi, who is accused of threatening to expose Tzuyang’s sensitive personal matters and extorting tens of millions of won under the pretext of consultation fees, was also brought to trial. Recently, women in their 20s Kim and in their 30s Song, who extorted about 200 million won by threatening Tzuyang, were booked by the police on charges of joint extortion and are under investigation. It is known that they threatened Tzuyang using the exposure of her private life as leverage through A.
