Jin Gyo-hoon, the mayor of Gangseo District, visited traditional markets for three consecutive days ahead of the Chuseok holiday to greet merchants and listen to their voices on the ground.
Gangseo District announced that on the morning of the 13th, Mayor Jin visited Hwagog Central Market and then went to Songhwa Mural Market in Naebalsan-dong, where he had lunch with merchants and discussed the current economic conditions they felt and ways to revitalize traditional markets.
In the afternoon, he continued his communication efforts by visiting Hwagog Bon-dong Market. This visit marked the third consecutive day Mayor Jin visited traditional markets ahead of Chuseok; on the 11th, he visited Bangsin Traditional Market, and on the 12th, he met residents at Nambu Alley Market and Kkachisan Market.
Mayor Jin encouraged the merchants by shouting, "Sell a lot. Fighting!" and the merchants responded by giving thumbs up, saying, "You are working so hard." Mayor Jin said, "I visited traditional markets to listen to the voices on the ground and encourage merchants ahead of the Chuseok holiday, but I actually gained strength from all the support. I will do my best for vibrant traditional markets."
