Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) opened the 'Gwangjin Senior Club Eoullim Center' at the former Gunja-dong office (Gunja-dong 53-8) on the 2nd and officially began its operation.
Located in Jayang 3-dong, the Gwangjin Senior Club was established in 2019 to promote social activities for the elderly and support a happy retirement in response to the intensifying aging society.
In addition, Gwangjin-gu promoted the construction of the 'Eoullim Center' to provide customized education for senior job participants and recently completed the opening of the new center at the remodeled former Gunja-dong office.
The Eoullim Center spans from the basement level 1 to the first floor, covering a total area of 297㎡, and is equipped with various facilities to facilitate the smooth operation of senior job projects, including ▲ training rooms ▲ shared workshops ▲ dessert cafe.
It operates from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, excluding weekends and public holidays. Through specialized senior job training, it is expected that not only will the elderly improve their job performance skills, but their motivation to work will also significantly increase.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “In line with the aging era, we have newly opened the Gwangjin Senior Club Eoullim Center to systematically support the elderly in preparing for their later years,” adding, “Gwangjin-gu will do its best to operate the center so that seniors can actively participate in social activities and lead happy lives.”
