A vehicle driven by an intoxicated driver crashed onto the sidewalk and struck a wall.
Changwon Jungbu Police Station in Gyeongnam announced on the 13th that they had apprehended and are investigating a man in his 60s, identified as A, on suspicion of drunk driving.
According to the police, at around 5:07 p.m. the previous day, A was driving under the influence from Sarim-dong, Uichang-gu, Changwon, to in front of the Gyeongnam Women and Family Foundation in Seongsan-gu, when he veered off the road onto the sidewalk.
A's vehicle crashed into the fence and wall of an apartment complex next to the sidewalk, but since no pedestrians were nearby, there were no casualties.
At the time of the accident, A's blood alcohol concentration was found to be over 0.08%, the threshold for license revocation.
The police plan to review the vehicle's black box footage and investigate A and witnesses to determine the exact circumstances of the accident before formally charging him.
