National Railroad Corporation → Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport → Construction to Begin in March Next Year
Ulsan’s Ulju County is accelerating the Ulju Park Golf Course construction project, speeding up efforts to develop the park golf course on the unused railway land in Onyang-eup.
Ulju County announced on the 13th that it had completed an agreement this month with the National Railway Authority regarding the utilization of unused railway land for the Ulju Park Golf Course project. After consulting with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport next month regarding the development-restricted area, construction is scheduled to begin in March next year.
With the rapid rise in the popularity of park golf, Ulju County is promoting the Ulju Park Golf Course project by conducting a public contest to utilize the unused railway land in Gosan-ri, Onyang-eup, to meet the increasing demand for park golf facilities.
To expedite the project, Ulju County is currently conducting a detailed design service in parallel with consultations with relevant agencies, and the project budget of 2.2 billion KRW has already been allocated.
The site for the Ulju Park Golf Course is conveniently located near Namchang Station, offering excellent transportation access. It is also adjacent to Oegosan Onggi Village, Ulju County’s major tourist attraction, making it possible to link with the Onggi Festival and attracting expectations of many visitors.
An Ulju County official stated, “Although Ulju County’s park golf courses have a higher number of users compared to other regions, the lack of facilities causes significant inconvenience for visitors. We will do our best to complete the park golf course as soon as possible to resolve these inconveniences.”
