The Center for Teaching and Learning Development at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President: Kim Youngdo) held a two-day, one-night "Second Life Healing Camp" at Cheongdo National Forest Center from the 5th to the 6th, aiming to relieve academic fatigue and psychological stress among middle-aged and older adult learners.
The Professor Learning Development Center at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology held the "Second Act of Life Healing Camp" at Cheongdo National Forest Center from the 5th to the 6th.
This healing camp focused on alleviating the various challenges faced by the middle-aged generation as they continue their education, particularly academic stress and psychological burdens that arise during life transitions.
The program included a variety of healing activities such as forest experiences, woodworking activities to help manage stress, and jigeun craftwork to stimulate brain activity. These activities provided adult learners with peace of mind and relaxation, supporting them in maintaining a healthy and enjoyable school life.
Participant Oh Youngbun (Department of Herbal Medicine, age 70) said, "Thanks to the university's special program for adult learners in the middle-aged group, I was able to step away from the classroom, connect with nature in the lush forest, and relieve my fatigue by breathing in the fresh air. Experiencing play and craft programs in the forest made me feel as if I had returned to my childhood, and it was even more meaningful because I could spend time with classmates of a similar age."
Jo Chaeyoung, head of the Center for Teaching and Learning Development, stated, "Middle-aged adult learners enter university to prepare for the second chapter of their lives, but at the same time, they face difficulties in balancing academics and daily life. Programs like the healing camp, which offer enjoyment and relaxation, play an important role not only in academic achievement but also in enhancing quality of life."
The Center for Teaching and Learning Development at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology plans to continue developing and operating various support programs for adult learners, so that middle-aged learners can successfully prepare for their second life.
