Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will hold the “Yeongdeungpo Youth Festival,” filled with the passion and vitality of young people, at Yeongdeungpo Art Hall on September 21 in celebration of Youth Day.

Youth Day, which occurs only once a year, is designated as the third Saturday of September each year to promote the importance of guaranteeing youth rights and youth development, and to raise awareness of youth issues.

Held under the theme “HAPPY YOUTH DAY, Celebrate the Youth’s Birthday!”, this festival is hosted by the district and organized by the Seoul Youth Center Yeongdeungpo. Through the festival, the district aims to support the growth of the younger generation, communicate with local youth, and envision the future together.

The festival features a variety of programs including ▲youth busking ▲magic shows ▲comedy performances ▲dialogues with the mayor (Youth Questions, Mayor Answers) ▲audience participation events. The comedy performances will feature comedians from the currently airing comedy program “Gag Concert,” presenting popular segments expected to bring great fun and laughter to the youth.

In particular, the “Youth Questions, Mayor Answers” segment allows young people to freely ask questions about youth policies, with the mayor responding. Mayor Choi plans to listen to the honest thoughts and opinions of young people and engage in meaningful communication.

Additionally, the festival will include various experience booths reflecting recent youth interests. Unique booths such as ▲tarot counseling ▲drone racing ▲bath bomb making based on birth month ▲alcohol waste patch experience ▲youth photo booths will be operated, and participants will receive small gifts such as welcome cookies.

Furthermore, the district will hold audience participation events including quizzes and recreational games, providing prizes to winners. The festival is prepared to ensure that the youth, the main protagonists, can enjoy themselves actively and with fun.

The festival is open to all youth aged 19 to 39 residing or active in Yeongdeungpo, and detailed information can be found on the district office or Seoul Youth Center Yeongdeungpo websites.

Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, “This festival is a valuable opportunity for young people to step away from their daily lives, share their concerns, and grow together. We will continue to listen carefully to even the smallest voices of youth and actively reflect them in policies, doing our best to create a community where young people can freely pursue their dreams.”
