SK E&S is considering selling the headquarters building and land of its city gas subsidiary, Cowon Energy Service, located in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, to raise funds.
According to industry sources on the 12th, the land area of Cowon Energy Service's headquarters is 49,109㎡, with an estimated value of around 400 to 500 billion KRW. SK E&S is proceeding with this as part of securing investment funds needed for various new projects it is pursuing.
This site is included in Seoul City's development plan for the confluence area of the Tancheon Stream, and Seoul has been considering development of the site for over 15 years. In line with Seoul City's plan, SK E&S has also been contemplating long-term utilization plans for the site.
One potential buyer mentioned is Gangnam Severance Hospital. Severance Hospital, as a regional hub hospital, is reportedly communicating with SK E&S considering public interest and improvement of the local medical environment.
However, SK E&S stated, "No decisions or agreements have been made regarding the sale of the site at this time."
