Street Art Festival 'Dongdaemun Festival' Held

October 12-13 Citizen Participation Performance 'Colorful Mumbmub' Held... Participants Recruited Until September 25

Dongdaemun Cultural Foundation (Chairman Ilhyung Lee) will hold the ‘2024 Dongdaemun Festival_Mobile Stage’ this October and is recruiting a citizen dance group to participate in the ‘Colorful Mupmup’ performance.

‘Colorful Mupmup’ is a citizen participation program where people freely dance in the city and enjoy the festival away from their daily routines. Through a large-scale performance of about 100 participants featuring colorful color powder and DJ music, participants can experience vibrant street art.

The ‘2024 Dongdaemun Festival_Mobile Stage,’ introduced for the first time this year, is a street art festival held over two days from October 12 to 13, spanning a 1.2km section from Janghanpyeong Station to Jangansa Intersection in Dongdaemun-gu.

The citizen dance group will consist of 100 Dongdaemun-gu residents aged 10 and above, with applications open until September 25. Selected citizens will participate in two workshops and rehearsals before performing a parade from Jangandong Intersection to Janghanpyeong Station on October 13 at the festival site.

Kim Kyungwook, CEO of Dongdaemun Cultural Foundation, said, “Through this performance, we hope citizens become the main agents of the festival and create a meaningful event that harmonizes with the residents. We ask for the participation of many residents in this newly introduced festival.”
