President Yoon Approves Appointment of Shim Woo-jung as Prosecutor General and Kim Bok-hyung as Constitutional Court Justice

President Yoon Suk-yeol approved the appointment of Prosecutor General Shim Woo-jung and Constitutional Court Justice Kim Bok-hyung on the 12th, the presidential office announced.

Earlier, the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee held a plenary session on the 5th to discuss the adoption of the confirmation hearing report for nominee Shim. However, the meeting was disrupted, and the adoption of the hearing report failed.

In response, President Yoon requested the National Assembly to submit the confirmation hearing report on the 10th. The deadline for resubmission was set for one day. President Yoon approved the appointment on the 12th, after the deadline had passed.

The confirmation hearing report for Justice Kim was adopted by consensus between the ruling and opposition parties at the Legislation and Judiciary Committee the previous day.
