Nonsan District Prosecutors' Office Rules 'No Charges Due to Insufficient Evidence'
Nonsan Mayor Baek Seonghyeon, who was sued for alleged violations of the Public Official Election Act ahead of the 22nd general election, has been cleared of all charges.
The Nonsan Branch of the Daejeon District Prosecutors' Office announced on the 12th that Mayor Baek, who was accused by the Democratic Party of violating the Public Official Election Act, has been given a "no charges due to insufficient evidence" disposition.
Previously, in February, the Democratic Party's "Countermeasure Committee Against Yoon Sukyeol Administration's Government-led Election" filed a complaint, claiming that Mayor Baek violated the Public Official Election Act by attending a publication event for a People Power Party preliminary candidate and participating in electioneering activities.
