Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) announced on the 12th that it held the ‘Chuseok Love Songpyeon Sharing’ event together with the Korean Red Cross Gwangjin District Council (Chairperson Lee Gwi-seon).

The event, hosted by the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Society Gwangjin District Council, was attended by Mayor Kim Kyung-ho, Korean Red Cross President Kim Cheol-soo, Seoul Metropolitan Chapter President Kwon Young-gyu, and about 30 members of the Red Cross Volunteer Society.

The program proceeded in order from the introduction of guests, presentation of appreciation plaques, making songpyeon, and packaging gift sets. In particular, Mayor Kim Kyung-ho attracted attention by receiving an appreciation plaque from Korean Red Cross President Kim Cheol-soo in recognition of his contributions to improving the environment of the Gwangjin Red Cross Volunteer Sharing Center.

The made songpyeon were nicely packaged and delivered to 150 vulnerable households, including those partnered with the Hope Windmill program.

Mayor Kim Kyung-ho of Gwangjin-gu said, “I deeply thank Korean Red Cross President Kim Cheol-soo, Seoul Metropolitan Chapter President Kwon Young-gyu, and Chairperson Lee Gwi-seon and members of the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Society Gwangjin District Council, who always serve selflessly for marginalized neighbors despite their busy schedules. I hope that warm hearts and sincerity continue during the upcoming Chuseok holiday, and wish everyone a bountiful Hangawi with family and relatives.”

The Korean Red Cross Volunteer Society Gwangjin District Council actively carries out volunteer activities every year for neighbors in need, such as the ‘Red Cross Senior Citizens’ Respect Festival,’ ‘Summer Health Food Samgyetang Sharing,’ and ‘Love Side Dish Sharing.’
