Emart Offers Discounts on Jesuyong Event Products
Also Showcases Ready-to-Eat Foods Like Modeumjeon and Namul
Lotte Mart Holds PB Jesuyong Products Discount Event
As the Chuseok holiday season officially begins, large supermarkets are launching discount events on convenient meals and ancestral rites ingredients to attract customers.
According to the distribution industry on the 14th, Emart is holding an event until the last day of the Chuseok holiday on the 18th, where customers who purchase more than 25,000 won worth of 'Peacock Jesuyong' holiday convenience foods, including about 40 items, will receive a 5,000 won gift certificate.
The event items include a total of about 40 products, ranging from convenient foods such as five types of songpyeon including white songpyeon and mos leaf songpyeon, four types of beverages such as sikhye and sujeonggwa, six types of jeon including assorted jeon and beef yukjeon, to essential kitchen items such as sesame oil, olive oil, and tofu.
Earlier, Emart's private brand (PB) Peacock lowered the prices of about 300 products starting in July, which also reduced the prices of convenient ancestral table items. For example, 'Peacock Tteokgalbi (450g)' was reduced by 16% from 9,480 won to 7,980 won, and the prices of five types of songpyeon including 'Peacock White Songpyeon (600g)' dropped by 6% from 8,480 won to 7,980 won.
The deli corner, which mainly sells ready-to-eat foods, also launched new menu items for Chuseok. The 'Alchan Assorted Jeon Set,' which includes six types of jeon such as five-color jeon, pollack jeon, meatball jeon, and yukjeon, is sold for 25,980 won per pack. Various types of namul, which have a short shelf life and are prepared just before the holiday, are also offered. The 'Holiday 6-Item Namul (360g),' made with domestic ingredients such as bracken, bellflower root, radish namul, spinach, mung bean sprouts, and soybean sprouts, can be used for ancestral rites or bibimbap. The selling price is 9,980 won.
The deli corner at Traders Wholesale Club, a warehouse discount mart, also sells 'Assorted Namul (680g)' made with bracken, bellflower root, spinach, etc., and 'Assorted Songpyeon (1.5kg, pack)' each for 9,980 won.
Emart is holding a discount event focused on convenient meals for Chuseok because related sales increase during the holiday period every year. According to Emart, sales of Peacock Jesuyong products from the 1st to the 9th increased by 23% compared to a similar period last year (September 13-21). The deli corner also sees rising sales every holiday. Sales of jeon and namul sold during last year's Chuseok increased by 10% compared to last year's Lunar New Year.

Lotte Mart is also holding a discount event on convenient private brand (PB) Jesuyong products until the 18th. For this event, Lotte Mart prepared convenient ancestral foods with high purchase rates during Chuseok such as songpyeon, jeon, ribs, as well as traditional snacks and holiday beverages like sikhye.
First, the 'Yorihada Kkaesongpyeon 2 types' are sold at 5,990 won each with a 1,000 won discount for L.POINT members. These frozen convenience foods are about 20% cheaper compared to branded frozen songpyeon. ▲ 'Yorihada LA-style Flower Ribs (600g)' 15,900 won ▲ 'Yorihada Perilla Leaf Jeon (300g)' 6,990 won ▲ 'Yorihada Pollack Jeon (300g)' and 'Yorihada Namdo Tteokgalbi (375g)' each 5,990 won ▲ 'Yorihada Squid Seafood Meatball (400g×2)' and 'Yorihada Donggeurangttaeng (425g×2)' each 7,990 won are sold at discounted prices.
Holiday snacks and Jesuyong side dishes are also discounted. Representative holiday snacks include ▲ 'Oneul Joeun Moonwangi Master Sikhye 2 types (1.8ℓ)' and 'Oneul Joeun Slowly Made Sujeonggwa (1.8ℓ)' each 5,990 won ▲ 'Oneul Joeun Our Rice Mini Yakgwa (500g)' 3,990 won, all sold at discounted prices. Jesuyong side dishes and ingredients are also offered at ▲ 'Oneul Joeun Cooking Crab Stick (165g)' 1,790 won ▲ 'Oneul Joeun Gimbap Ham (100g)' 1,290 won ▲ 'Oneul Joeun Sesame Oil (450ml)' 5,990 won ▲ 'Oneul Joeun Cut Dangmyeon (500g)' 3,790 won.
Meanwhile, Lotte Mart also offers discounts on major Jesuyong ingredients. First, 'Jesuyong Dried Pollack' is sold at a 20% discount for 3,992 won, and 'Happy Fresh Eggs (Large, 30 pieces, domestic)' are offered at 5,990 won per pack with a 1,000 won discount when purchasing two or more packs. 'Holiday Yukjeon-Use Korean Beef Round Steak (300g, frozen)' is also discounted by 40% for L.POINT members.
