Regional First Brand Premium... Kumho Construction to Launch 'Gangneung Atera' in October

Kumho Construction's newly launched residential brand, 'Gangneung Atera,' which will be introduced for the first time in Gangneung, Gangwon Province, is scheduled to be offered for sale in October.


'Gangneung Atera' will be developed in the Hoesan-dong area of Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do, consisting of three buildings ranging from two basement floors to 28 above-ground floors, with a total of 329 units sized between 84 and 166 square meters. Specifically, it offers a variety of floor plans from medium-sized types such as 84㎡, 99㎡, 115㎡, 146㎡, 147㎡, and 166㎡ to large and penthouse types, broadening the choices for homebuyers.


The brand value of 'Atera' has been proven in the sales market. After Kumho Construction launched the housing brand 'Atera,' the 'Cheongju Technopolis Atera,' first introduced in Cheongju, Chungbuk, in July this year, completed its subscription with a first-priority average competition rate of 47.39 to 1. Additionally, last month, 'Goyang Janghang Atera,' supplied for the first time in Goyang City, also recorded a high competition rate with a first-priority average of 30.71 to 1.


'Gangneung Atera' is planned to be built in the Hoesan district, which is emerging as a new residential town in Gangneung City. Located in the western area of Gangneung, Hoesan district is planned to include approximately 2,440 apartment units along with various lifestyle convenience facilities. Accordingly, the real estate industry evaluates Hoesan district as a mini new town-scale development. Currently, about 1,600 apartment units have been built in Hoesan district, and it is expected to be developed into a residential area with 2,440 units, including 'Gangneung Atera.' Once development is complete, it is anticipated to become a new large-scale branded residential town representing Gangneung.


The area is also equipped with excellent transportation networks. 'Gangneung Atera' offers easy access to intercity travel via several major roads, including National Routes 7 and 35, Yeongdong Expressway, Seoul-Yangyang Expressway, and Donghae Expressway (Samcheok-Sokcho). Additionally, it is close to Gangneung Intercity Bus Terminal and Express Bus Terminal, making public transportation convenient. Furthermore, KTX Gangneung Station is nearby, allowing travel to key Seoul areas such as Seoul Station, Cheongnyangni, and Yongsan in about two hours. The Gangneung Station area is also seeing smooth progress in the development of the Gangneung-Incheon Gyeonggang Line high-speed railway project (scheduled for full opening in 2029), the Gangneung-Jejin Donghae Bukbu Line (scheduled to open in 2027), and the Gangwon-Honam axis high-speed railway network (Gangneung Station to Mokpo Station, scheduled to open in December 2027).


Development prospects are also promising. Near 'Gangneung Atera,' in the Gujeong-myeon area, the 'Gangneung Natural Bio National Industrial Complex' project is underway. Gangneung City estimates that this will generate an economic activation effect with a local production inducement of 6 trillion won and employment inducement of about 20,000 people. Currently, full efforts are being made to secure final selection as a national industrial complex, with a preliminary feasibility study underway and a final announcement expected by the end of this year or early next year.


Abundant living infrastructure also attracts attention. 'Gangneung Atera' is located near Gangneung City Hall, Gangneung Public Health Center, Gangneung Medical Center, and food material marts. Especially, it is close to Gyodong, which is considered the core living area of Gangneung, allowing residents to enjoy all the surrounding infrastructure.


The pleasant natural environment is also notable. 'Gangneung Atera' faces a pine forest right in front of the complex, allowing residents to enjoy natural views from their units. Additionally, the nearby Namdaecheon Stream walking trail along Namdaecheon provides a pleasant natural environment where residents can enjoy leisure activities such as exercise and walking.


Specialized features befitting a premium brand also stand out. 'Gangneung Atera' plans to provide ample and spacious parking spaces, allowing for about 1.6 or more parking spaces per household. Moreover, specialized community facilities such as an on-site camping zone and a pet-exclusive lounge, which have not been seen before in Gangneung, will also be provided.


Meanwhile, the model house for 'Gangneung Atera' will be set up in Gyodong, Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do.
