Daewoo Global Management Research Association (Segyeongyeon) announced on the 12th that it will open the country's first online course where business and humanities knowledge can be systematically learned, focusing on Vietnam, Indonesia, and other countries.
Jang Byung-ju, Chairman of Daewoo World Management Research Association
Since 2010, Segyeongyeon has been selecting university graduates and training them as young middle managers (GYBM) called 'Kim Woo-jung Kids,' supporting their employment at Korean companies that have entered local markets. Based on the understanding and experience of local business accumulated through nurturing over 1,500 talents, this course was created.
The course covers national economy, trade status and future prospects, local business transaction environments and commercial practices, laws related to direct investment, finance, taxation and accounting, and human resources management precautions. The instructors consist of top experts who have either conducted actual business locally or handled support tasks.
To enhance learning completion, the course is linked to the government's private qualification 'National and Industry-specific Business Practitioner Qualification,' which can also be issued.
Jang Byung-joo, chairman of Segyeongyeon, said, "To win in competition with companies from around the world, gaining the hearts of the local people is most important, but it is difficult to obtain specific and systematic information about the local country. We created this course befitting the name of Daewoo, which aimed for globalization, and plan to sequentially develop courses for Poland, China, and others."
Daewoo Global Management Research Association is a non-profit corporation established in 2009 by former Daewoo Group executives and employees, with about 6,400 regular members and 60 branches overseas. Its main projects include GYBM training, support projects for small and medium enterprises, academic seminars, and operation of the Global Management Academy.
