RaonSecure invited six Japanese local governments to its headquarters to showcase the Korean mobile ID implementation case and discuss business cooperation plans.
IT security and authentication platform company RaonSecure (CEO Soonhyung Lee, Jeonga Lee) held a "Blockchain-based National Digital ID Briefing" on the 11th for six Japanese local governments (hereinafter referred to as local governments). This briefing was arranged as part of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA)'s "Japanese Local Government Digital Transformation (DX) Entry Strategy Briefing," with KOTRA and Japanese local government officials showing interest in blockchain-based digital ID and the metaverse-based practical service "Metademy," leading to their visit to RaonSecure's headquarters.
Attendees from the Japanese local governments included DX officials from six local governments: Shibuya Ward in Tokyo, Yokohama City, Okinawa Prefecture, Nagoya City, Kobe City, and Shizuoka Prefecture. RaonSecure introduced the Korean government's national mobile ID implementation case, its integrated identity and qualification authentication SaaS platform OmniOne Digital ID, the open case of ISIC international student ID using the platform, and the current status of its business in Japan, followed by a Q&A session related to the business.
Japanese local government officials showed high interest in RaonSecure's unique blockchain-based digital ID technology and the national mobile ID implementation case based on it. RaonSecure plans to discuss business cooperation plans related to digital ID implementation with the local governments that attended the briefing.
Additionally, Japanese local government officials had the opportunity to directly experience practical content such as laboratory animal autopsy, drone operation, physical therapy, and nursing care provided by RaonSecure’s subsidiary RaonMeta’s "Metademy."
RaonSecure conducted a proof of concept (PoC) linked to qualification credentials based on OmniOne Digital ID with a major Japanese corporation in the first half of this year, and in the second half, it is pushing forward PoCs linked to qualification credentials based on OmniOne Digital ID with IT companies providing My Number services, actively entering the digital credential market. Furthermore, the subscription-based biometric authentication (FIDO) service TouchEn OnePass, launched in Japan, has surpassed 5.2 million monthly active users (MAU), solidifying its position in the Japanese digital authentication market.
RaonSecure CEO Soonhyung Lee said, "Digital transformation is rapidly progressing across all industrial sectors in Japan, and there is strong interest in Korea’s advanced IT security authentication technology. Not only our subscription-based biometric authentication service but also blockchain-based digital ID is attracting significant attention. We will actively expand our business in Japan through close collaboration with Japanese local governments."
Meanwhile, RaonSecure also explained the blockchain-based national digital ID implementation case at the "K-DID Implementation Case Dissemination Meeting" held at its headquarters in April, which drew the attention of World Bank officials who visited at that time. The company is conducting projects such as Indonesia’s "Integrated Digital ID Service Project" and Costa Rica’s "Public Digital Wallet Development Project," and is discussing digital ID implementation with many countries in Latin America and Southeast Asia.
