A woman in her 30s who forcibly molested two male coworkers at a company dinner was sentenced to a suspended prison term.


According to the local legal community on the 11th, the Cheonan Branch of Daejeon District Court, Criminal Division 1 (Presiding Judge Jung Eun-young) sentenced A (34, female), who was indicted on charges of forcible molestation, to one year in prison with a two-year suspension. She was also ordered to attend 40 hours of sexual violence treatment lectures.


A was brought to trial on charges of forcibly molesting male coworkers B (30) and C (37) at a company dinner in 2021.


On that evening around 8 p.m., A approached B, who was singing at a karaoke room, and rubbed her buttocks against his genital area. Although B pushed her shoulder to express refusal, she also touched his left thigh five times. Additionally, at the same venue, she hugged C and slapped his left buttock while saying, "Men should have big buttocks. Sleep with me, it doesn't matter if you sleep with me," committing forcible molestation.


The court stated, "The defendant has no prior criminal record, and considering the nature and motive of the crime, the method and result, it is difficult to conclude that there is a risk of reoffending," but added, "The defendant's crime of forcibly molesting two coworkers is serious, and the victims have not recovered, so the responsibility is heavy. Taking into account the relatively mild degree of molestation, the sentencing conditions were determined," explaining the reasons for the sentence.
