The KOSPI index is showing an intraday rise of over 1%, buoyed by positive momentum from the U.S.


As of 10:34 a.m. on the 12th, the KOSPI index is trading at 2541.56, up 1.12% from the previous day.


By investor type, institutions and individuals are net buyers of 71.3 billion KRW and 52.9 billion KRW respectively, while foreigners are net sellers of 101.4 billion KRW. In the futures market, foreigners are net buyers of 110.5 billion KRW, whereas institutions and individuals are net sellers of 105.6 billion KRW and 28.2 billion KRW respectively.


More sectors are rising than falling. Machinery is up 2.76%, medical precision 2.52%, construction 1.9%, electrical and electronics 1.84%, transportation equipment 1.55%, manufacturing 1.5%, services 0.85%, pharmaceuticals 0.96%, steel and metals 0.98%, and textiles and apparel 0.86%. Meanwhile, telecommunications is down 0.49%, and retail and electric/gas utilities are slightly lower.


Most of the top market capitalization stocks are showing strength. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are up 1.39% and 5.09% respectively, Samsung Biologics 0.1%, Hyundai Motor 2.91%, Celltrion 2.05%, Kia 2.91%, and POSCO Holdings 3.65%. On the other hand, LG Energy Solution is down 0.13%, KB Financial -0.64%, and Samsung C&T -0.27%, showing slight weakness.


At the same time, the KOSDAQ index is trading at 724.71, up 2.16% from the previous day. By investor type, institutions and foreigners are net buyers of 40.9 billion KRW and 68.9 billion KRW respectively, while individuals are net sellers of 113.1 billion KRW.


Most of the top market capitalization stocks are rising. Alteogen is up 0.82%, EcoPro BM 3.06%, HLB 1.84%, EcoPro 3.62%, Enchem 4.55%, Rigachem Bio 3.46%, Samchundang Pharmaceutical 0.62%, and Rino Industrial 6.86%. Meanwhile, Classys and Hugel are showing slight weakness.


Meanwhile, in the Seoul foreign exchange market, the won/dollar exchange rate is trading at 1340.5 won, down 1 won from the previous day.
