Hyundai Motor Supports Capacity Building for Child Protection Agency Counselors

New Social Contribution Program 'iCare Up'
Expansion to 'iCare Home' Project Planned
Establishing a Comprehensive Child Protection Support System

Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 12th that it has launched a new social contribution program called ‘iCare Up’ to support counselors at child protection agencies. From the 9th for three days, they invited 200 counselors from child protection agencies nationwide to a resort in Jecheon, Chungbuk, where they conducted stress relief and capacity-building programs.

Child counselors often face frequent verbal abuse and violence as they directly encounter victims and perpetrators of abuse. Previously, since 2014, Hyundai Motor Group has supported the iCare Car, a mobile psychological counseling vehicle dedicated to preventing child abuse. This time, the program has been expanded to include healing and capacity-building programs for counselors.

Hyundai Motor Group plans to hold this event annually going forward. They also intend to operate the iCare Home project, which supports remodeling shelters for abused children, to establish a comprehensive child protection support system.

A company official said, "This event was prepared to encourage and support counselors who play the most important role on the front lines in protecting abused children," adding, "We plan to continue discovering and supporting the hidden heroes in our society who dedicate themselves to ensuring everyday safety, not only counselors."
