Obigo participates in 'Inside Japan Mobility Technology Exchange 2024'... Strengthening Japan market strategy

OBIGO, a smart car software (SW) specialist company, is expanding partnerships with global automakers by unveiling a new in-vehicle web solution for the transition to software-defined vehicles (SDV) in Japan.

OBIGO announced on the 12th that it participated in the ‘Inside Japan Mobility Technology Exchange 2024,’ held over two days from the 11th at the Portmesse Nagoya Convention Hall in Japan, where it set up a solo booth and showcased a demo of its new product based on ‘Android Automotive.’

At this event, OBIGO unveiled the ‘AGB Browser,’ enhanced with bookmark functionality and in-vehicle content, as well as its proprietary app store, the ‘O-Store.’ OBIGO’s next-generation products offer high compatibility with most in-vehicle operating systems, including the Android Automotive OS (AAOS). They also feature scalability that allows rapid application of various services desired by global automakers. The company plans to release detailed information about the newly unveiled products on its official website.

Currently, OBIGO supplies its platform to Japanese automakers such as Toyota, Nissan, and Mitsubishi. With many major Japanese automakers and first-tier partners participating in this event, OBIGO plans to introduce its new products and strengthen local sales activities.

Hwang Do-yeon, CEO of OBIGO, emphasized, “The paradigm shift in vehicles such as SDV, connected cars, and autonomous driving represents the future mobility direction that the global automotive industry is focusing on. Through participation in this technology exchange, we aim to establish a cooperative system with global automakers for the SDV transition and leap forward as an SDV service platform company.”

Meanwhile, in its third edition, this event features about 300 companies representing Japan’s leading automakers and next-generation parts manufacturers, along with approximately 57 Korean small and medium-sized enterprises selected by KOTRA. Notably, this year’s event provided opportunities to directly experience core parts and solutions for building future car key parts supply chains between Korea and Japan, as well as to establish business relationships.
