High Evaluation for Compliance Program Improvement and Strong Commitment from Management
Samsung Heavy Industries announced on the 12th that it has passed the follow-up audit for the integrated certification of the 'Compliance Management System (ISO 37301)' and the 'Anti-Bribery Management System (ISO 37001)'.
ISO 37301 and 37001 are international standards that evaluate whether corporate ethical management systems meet global criteria. After the initial certification, passing follow-up audits for two years is required to maintain the certification, and a renewal audit must be conducted in the third year.
Samsung Heavy Industries, which obtained the integrated certification of ISO 37301 and ISO 37001 for the first time in the domestic shipbuilding industry last September, has proven that it continuously operates a global-level compliance management system by passing the rigorously conducted follow-up audit.
The successful follow-up verification reflects a high evaluation of Samsung Heavy Industries' compliance management efforts, including the strengthening of a continuous monitoring system implemented with the strong will of the CEO and management since the integrated certification, as well as steady improvements in compliance programs.
Earlier, in June last year, Samsung Heavy Industries also committed to sustainable management by joining the 'UN Global Compact (UNGC)'. Through its UNGC membership, Samsung Heavy Industries complies with international standards in 10 areas including human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption, enhancing trust and competitiveness in the global market.
A Samsung Heavy Industries official stated, "Passing this follow-up audit proves that Samsung Heavy Industries is systematically and continuously practicing ethical management," and emphasized, "We will continue to maintain and develop a global-level compliance management system."
