Evolution of Public Support for Jung-gu Type Redevelopment Projects
Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Gil-seong) is introducing a public promotion system using live commerce methods for the redevelopment complex (Sindang 10 District) currently selecting a construction company.
This is Jung-gu's unique approach to address concerns that residents' right to know is being infringed due to reduced promotion caused by strengthened individual promotion standards and penalty regulations following the revision of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's public support maintenance project construction selection criteria and the Urban Maintenance Act.
Following the construction company selection bid announcement on the 11th, competition among construction companies in Sindang 10 District is expected to enter a full-fledged phase. The district office plans to move away from passive methods such as prior review, formation of an anti-corruption task force, and operation of a reporting center, and instead provide more bold support to prevent damages to union members caused by unfair and overheated competition and to encourage fair and transparent competition.
First, the district will support posting Chuseok greetings, company promotional videos, and promotional materials for each construction company on the official social networking service (SNS) of the Sindang 10 District union. In particular, live commerce will be conducted via YouTube live streaming to address questions about the construction companies, aiming to increase residents' interest and satisfaction through various promotional activities.
To prevent fraudulent activities in advance, a tripartite joint meeting among the district office, the union, and construction companies was held on the 3rd, and on the 12th, preventive education will be provided to union members, construction companies, and officials involved.
Meanwhile, Jung-gu has recommended external experts as election management committee members (chairpersons) for the redevelopment project in the Jungnim-dong 398 area, where the union direct establishment procedure is underway. This was actively reflected by the district office at the residents' request to ensure a fair election of union executives and delegates.
Accordingly, the election management committee has been formed with experts from various fields including lawyers, judicial scriveners, architects, appraisers, and former union heads. The district expects to review and preemptively supplement any unexpected situations that may arise during the election process.
The redevelopment project in the Jungnim-dong 398 area plans to finalize the election management plan and announce candidate recruitment after Chuseok. Additionally, Jung-gu intends to hold the inaugural general meeting on November 17 this year and strengthen public support to complete the union establishment within the year.
Mayor Kim Gil-seong stated, "This Chuseok and autumn, we will thoroughly carry out Jung-gu-style public support so that families can sit together and share stories about their changing homes and neighborhoods with anticipation and hope."
