The determination of Oh Eon-seok, the mayor of Dobong-gu, is shining.

Following the petition for the relocation of Kukkiwon to Dobong-gu, he has joined hands with Shinhan University.

Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) has partnered with Shinhan University, which established the world's first Taekwondo college, to relocate Kukkiwon to Dobong-gu.

On September 9th, the district announced that it held a business agreement ceremony for the relocation of Kukkiwon to Dobong-gu at the mayor's office in Dobong-gu Office with Shinhan University (President Kang Seong-jong).

With this agreement with Shinhan University, which leads Taekwondo culture and education, great support is expected for Kukkiwon's relocation to Dobong-gu.

On that day, the two institutions agreed to pool their efforts not only on matters related to the relocation of Kukkiwon to Dobong-gu, such as mutual cooperation for the relocation, but also on co-hosting national Taekwondo competitions and cooperation for the development of Taekwondo, among other matters following the relocation.

President Kang Seong-jong, who attended the agreement ceremony, said, "If Kukkiwon, the holy land of Taekwondo, is established in Dobong-gu, which has a natural environment, it will greatly help not only the development of Dobong-gu but also the Taekwondo students at Shinhan University who will lead the future Taekwondo culture of Korea."

In response, Oh Eon-seok, mayor of Dobong-gu, said, "If the two institutions join forces, it will greatly contribute not only to the relocation of Kukkiwon to Dobong-gu but also to the development of Taekwondo, the national martial art of Korea," adding, "We will continue close cooperation not only for the relocation of Kukkiwon but also in terms of Taekwondo education and culture."

The district is making various efforts for the relocation of Kukkiwon to Dobong-gu. From July 25 to August 23, the district conducted a petition campaign urging the relocation to Dobong-gu for about a month. A total of 168,282 signatures were collected, and the petition was delivered to Yoo In-chon, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, on September 3.
