Comprehensive Chuseok Measures Implemented for 7 Days from September 13 to 19
Resident-Centered, Life-Oriented Measures Prepared in Areas Including Livelihood, Traffic, and Safety
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will implement a comprehensive plan for Chuseok from September 13 to 19 to ensure the safety and convenience of residents during the upcoming Chuseok holiday period.
The district has established and is actively promoting the "2024 Chuseok Comprehensive Plan" to prevent various accidents during the holiday and minimize inconvenience to residents. This year's Chuseok comprehensive plan focuses on providing customized services that residents can directly experience.
During the implementation period of the Chuseok comprehensive plan, focused measures will be carried out in various fields such as livelihood, medical care, resolving residents' inconveniences, transportation, and safety.
First, the district has prepared various support measures to ensure a warm holiday for vulnerable groups. Holiday consolation gifts were delivered to elderly living alone, low-income households, and families with disabilities.
In addition, the district has built a tight welfare network in cooperation with the local community to identify and support residents in welfare blind spots.
Measures to minimize damage to residents caused by medical service gaps have also been prepared. An emergency medical situation room will be operated, and a 24-hour emergency room will be run at Huimyeong Hospital to promptly treat emergency patients. The emergency medical response system with the Fire and Disaster Headquarters (119) and Seoul City will also be maintained.
Furthermore, on September 14, 16, and 17, internal medicine and family medicine consultations will be available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the first treatment room on the 2nd floor of the Geumcheon-gu Health Center. The 136 hospitals and clinics and 128 pharmacies operating during the holiday period can be checked on the Geumcheon-gu Office website or the emergency medical portal E-GEN.
Along with this, due to the holiday closure of the Chuseok cleaning contractors, household waste will not be collected for four days from September 14 to 17 during the holiday period. The district will operate a cleaning situation room and environmental officers will be on emergency duty.
Also, even during the holiday closure period, from the night of the 15th to the 17th, a mobile cleaning team from the cleaning contractors will operate to inspect major roads and areas with large amounts of waste and collect garbage, aiming to keep the city clean during the holiday.
Transportation measures have also been prepared to minimize inconvenience during the holiday. A transportation task force will be operated, and public transportation such as village buses will run extended hours to respond according to residents' travel demand during the holiday period.
To allow residents to spend a comfortable holiday with their families without worrying about parking, 40 parking facilities including public institutions, schools, private, and public parking lots with a total of 1,789 spaces will be opened. In addition, illegal parking will be monitored during the holiday period to prevent parking-related complaints.
The district will implement multifaceted measures to ensure residents' safety during the holiday. In addition to the comprehensive situation room, eight functional task forces including the safety comprehensive situation room, flood and wind disaster situation room, and cleaning task force will be organized, and emergency duty will be carried out to minimize residents' inconvenience.
To prepare for various safety accidents during the holiday, safety inspections of disaster-vulnerable facilities, large construction sites, and dangerous buildings will be strengthened, and a flood and wind disaster countermeasure situation room will be operated to respond to weather conditions such as sudden heavy rain.
For inquiries and complaints related to the Chuseok holiday period, residents can contact the Seoul 120 Dasan Call Center or the Geumcheon-gu situation room.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, "This Chuseok comprehensive plan is being thoroughly prepared with cooperation from all departments in various fields such as livelihood, transportation, and safety to ensure that residents can have a safe and comfortable holiday," and added, "I hope everyone has a warm and abundant Hangawi sharing affection with their families this year as well."
