Unisem Signs Agreement with Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled to Establish a Subsidiary-Type Standard Workplace for the Disabled

Unisem announced on the 11th that it has signed an agreement with the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled to establish a 'subsidiary-type standard workplace for the disabled' aimed at creating jobs for people with severe disabilities.

This agreement was made by combining the will of both organizations to help the smooth social integration of people with disabilities and to create a society of coexistence. Both organizations have agreed to work together to establish a subsidiary-type standard workplace for the disabled to create quality jobs for people with disabilities.

Unisem, a semiconductor and display equipment specialist company, will practice Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management through this agreement. Based on a strong commitment to fulfilling social value, it will establish a subsidiary-type standard workplace for the disabled in cooperation with the agency. The company plans to expand the employment of people with severe disabilities in various roles such as baristas and cultural arts, leading to mutual growth with the local community.

A subsidiary-type standard workplace for the disabled is a standard workplace established to fulfill the social responsibilities of businesses obligated to employ people with disabilities. It provides a disability-friendly working environment based on a stable management environment, playing a significant role in creating jobs for people with severe disabilities in the local community.

Sung Si-mok, Executive Director of Unisem, said, “We are honored to contribute to creating jobs for people with disabilities through cooperation with the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled. We expect this to be an opportunity to realize the company's social value through the employment of people with disabilities while actively practicing ESG management.”

Cha Jeong-hoon, Director of Employment Promotion at the agency, stated, “Despite the challenges of employing people with disabilities due to the unique nature of the semiconductor industry, we appreciate the effort to establish a subsidiary-type standard workplace for the disabled. We will mobilize all resources and capabilities of the agency to support the successful establishment of the subsidiary-type standard workplace.”
