Incheon Creative Economy Innovation Center Signs MOU to Drive Globalization of Bio Ventures
The K-Bio Lab Hub Project Promotion Team of the Small and Medium Business Technology Information Promotion Agency held the '2024 Pharmaceutical Bio Startup Policy Forum' on the 10th at Songdo Convensia in Incheon.
First, Professor Noh Hyung-min of Inha Technical College gave a lecture on the topic of 'The Role and Global Strategy of the Songdo Bio Cluster and K-Bio Lab Hub as a Global Hub.'
Next, Nam-hoon Cho, CEO of K-Ground Ventures, presented on 'Government and Private Funding Policies for Global Bio Companies,' Won-geun Lee, Director of the Korea Science Communication Institute, spoke on 'Analysis and Improvement Plans for Pharmaceutical Bio Policies for Globalization,' and Kyun-hee Han, Deputy Director of the Industry-Academic Cooperation Complex Project under the Ministry of Education at Yonsei University, presented on 'Strengths and Future Strategies and Policies of Incheon City as a Global Bio Special Zone.'
During the subsequent discussion session, chaired by Special Professor Joo Young-seop of Seoul National University, pharmaceutical bio industry workers participated in an in-depth discussion on policies for the globalization of bio ventures.
Following the forum, the Promotion Team and the Incheon Center for Creative Economy and Innovation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on mutual cooperation for joint development of pharmaceutical bio startup support programs and network building.
The MOU focuses on △establishing a collaborative system for discovering and nurturing startups in the pharmaceutical bio field △joint development and operation of startup support programs △information exchange and network building △sharing and linking expert consulting groups.
Director Han In-seok said, "We will strengthen the global competitiveness of Incheon's bio industry and create an innovative ecosystem to lay the foundation for startups to grow together."
Lee Han-seop, Director of the Incheon Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, stated, "Incheon already holds an important position as a global bio hub. Through this cooperation, we will continuously strengthen the support system so that Incheon can establish itself as a global center for bio startups and work together to help startups grow."
