Cheongundae, Approval Granted for Establishment of 'Biohealthcare Graduate School'

Biohealthcare Specialized University Selects 40 Master's and Doctoral Candidates

Cheongwoon University has received final approval from the Ministry of Education to establish a professional graduate school for the 2025 academic year.

According to Cheongwoon University on the 11th, the Biohealthcare Professional Graduate School, which will begin admissions in the 2025 academic year, will belong to the natural sciences field and can admit 40 master's and doctoral students.

The newly approved Biohealthcare Professional Graduate School consists of the Department of Medical Materials Design Media, the Department of Bio Food Tech Precision Nutrition, the Department of Medical Sports Culture Arts Tourism, and the Department of Digital Care Nursing Social Welfare. Each department will admit 6 master's and 4 doctoral students. The duration of study is 2 years for the master's program and 3 years for the doctoral program.

In accordance with Chungcheongnam-do's comprehensive plan for fostering the bioindustry, Cheongwoon University aims to cultivate specialized biohealthcare personnel and contribute to regional balanced development and the expansion of local experts by establishing clusters in biohealth (Cheonan·Asan), green bio (Hongseong·Yesan), medi bio (Gongju·Boryeong·Dangjin·Cheongyang), marine bio (Seocheon·Taean), white bio (Seosan·Buyeo·Geumsan), and defense bio (Nonsan·Gyeryong).

President Jung Yoon said, "The process of increasing the quota was not easy, but since the comprehensive plan for fostering the regional bioindustry aligns with Cheongwoon University's goal of nurturing specialized talent, we were able to receive good results from the Ministry of Education," and added, "I am grateful to the graduate school and staff who worked hard for this outcome."

He continued, "Cheongwoon University is continuously striving for various innovations such as education, research, and mutual development with the region," and said, "I hope many local talents will challenge themselves in the biohealthcare expert program."

Cheongwoon University was approved as the Graduate School of Information Industry in 1997 and changed its name to Cheongwoon University Graduate School in 2016.
