Kakao announced on the 11th that KakaoMap has launched an indoor map service for Noryangjin Fisheries Wholesale Market.
KakaoMap's indoor map is a map service that provides information on stores and convenience facilities within large and complex indoor locations. Kakao and Suhyup Noryangjin Fisheries Co., Ltd. developed this indoor map to help users who had difficulty finding their way or locating desired information inside the market. The latest information, including each store's location, menu, operating hours, as well as floor-specific elevators, escalators, restrooms, and other convenience facilities, has been reflected in the KakaoMap application exactly as shown on the floor plans.
Considering that most store owners are elderly, a "visiting app usage education for store owners" was also conducted. The education covered how to use the KakaoMap app, how to sign up for and utilize Kakao Business accounts, and enabled store owners to directly manage their stores to promote their shops, notify of holidays, and use various other functions.
Users can check floor information by updating the KakaoMap app to the latest version and searching for Noryangjin Fisheries Wholesale Market. Then, by tapping on store icons, they can access content such as home, photos, and reviews to find the information they need.
Joo Sung-yoon, Kakao Local Map Leader, said, "After launching the KakaoMap indoor map service, we developed the indoor map for Noryangjin Fisheries Wholesale Market in response to users' requests to apply it to complex markets as well. We will continue to strive to enhance the indoor map service to meet the diverse needs of users."
Meanwhile, since opening the KakaoMap indoor map service in January, it currently provides information on over 130 complex commercial facilities nationwide, including Gimpo International Airport, Hyundai Department Store Pangyo, and Shinsegae Outlet Busan.
