Battery Solutions, 'Daehanmingjang' Emerges... Kim Youngjin, Technical Director, Selected for Electrical Category

A 'Master Craftsman of Korea' with top-level skills has emerged at Battery Solutions, a comprehensive battery recycling specialist company. Battery Solutions is a subsidiary of the listed company KPS and is preparing to enter the stock market next year.

On the 11th, Battery Solutions announced that Kim Young-jin, Technical Director (60), was selected as the Master Craftsman in the electrical field among 13 Masters of Korea for 2024, announced by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea. On the 9th, the Ministry held a 'Skilled Workers' Day' commemorative event at the Fairmont Ambassador Hotel in Seoul and invited the Masters of Korea to the ceremony.

Technical Director Kim of Battery Solutions graduated from the Electrical Department of Yeongnam Technical High School in 1982 and entered the industrial field. For 42 years, he has worked as a maintenance technician for factory automation equipment and as an on-site expert in automation systems and smart factory construction. After developing an electric motor testing device, he registered a patent and authored 19 electrical technology books, which are used as textbooks in universities.

Kim has provided over 2,000 hours of technical guidance to 38 small and medium-sized enterprises, passing on skilled techniques. He was also recognized for creating tens of billions of won in added value annually by applying core technologies and improving work methods in production sites.

Known as the 'King of Certifications' for acquiring 103 official technical qualifications, Kim said, "This is the happiest moment in my life so far," and expressed his aspiration as a Master Craftsman of Korea, stating, "I will do my best to contribute my talents for the development of the local community."

The government selects Masters of Korea every year in 92 occupations across 38 fields who have made significant contributions to technological development and transmission. Since 1986, a total of 708 Masters have been produced. Benefits for Masters include a work incentive bonus, a Master Craftsman plaque, opportunities for overseas industrial inspection, and exemption from regular labor inspections for three years.
