The video was recorded in an underground shopping mall in Gangnam, Seoul, last August, showing a woman, Ms. A, staggering as if drunk. Ms. A wandered in front of the mall entrance, then entered the mall and stopped walking in front of an elevator. She used the elevator like a mirror, gazing at her reflected face, then suddenly kissed the elevator. She also squatted in front of a supermarket display, exhibiting inexplicable behavior.

Even in front of the police who arrived at the scene following a citizen's report, Ms. A's strange behavior continued. The police suspected she was intoxicated for reasons other than alcohol and checked her identity based on the personal information she provided, but someone else’s information was retrieved. Finding this suspicious, the police conducted a simple drug test on Ms. A. The result was positive. Ms. A was known to have memorized another person's personal information to avoid identity verification. Eventually, Ms. A was urgently arrested at the scene on suspicion of drug use.

Netizens who saw the video responded with various comments such as "Drug-related punishments should be strengthened," "We need to fix the lenient punishments first," "I can't believe this happened in our country," and "The era of a drug-free nation is over."

Meanwhile, it was revealed that the number of drug offenders exceeded 20,000 for the first time last year. According to the 'Drug Crime White Paper' published by the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, the number of drug offenders last year was 27,611, surpassing the record for two consecutive years. The number of drug offenders was 16,044 in 2019, 18,050 in 2020, 16,153 in 2021, and 18,395 in 2022.
