LG CNS and Indonesia's Sinar Mas Group signed a memorandum of understanding for the establishment of LG Sinar Mas last March. The Sinar Mas Group is one of Indonesia's largest groups, having accumulated business expertise and local networks in seven industrial sectors: energy & infrastructure, telecommunications & technology, finance, real estate, pulp & paper, agriculture & food, and healthcare.
LG Sinar Mas is headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia. Han Dong-hyeop, who previously served as head of LG CNS's Indonesia and China branches, was appointed as the CEO.
At the launch ceremony, LG Sinar Mas announced its slogan and roadmap as "the most trusted innovative IT service company in Indonesia." LG Sinar Mas plans to leverage the strengths of LG CNS and the Sinar Mas Group to promote businesses such as cutting-edge data center consulting, construction, operation, and cloud migration.
LG Sinar Mas plans to gradually expand its main business areas to include smart cities and financial IT services, providing a wide range of digital transformation (DX) services. According to global consulting firm Gartner, the Indonesian IT market is growing rapidly every year and is expected to have a market value of approximately KRW 9.4 trillion by 2027.
LG CNS has accumulated know-how by carrying out various DX businesses such as cloud, artificial intelligence (AI), data centers, and smart cities in domestic and overseas IT solution markets. In particular, it has successfully executed projects in Indonesia such as the Nusantara New Capital Smart City design consulting project, the national tax administration system construction project, and the Jakarta metropolitan light rail transit facility project.
Hyun Shin-kyun, CEO of LG CNS, said, "LG Sinar Mas will seek new business opportunities in the Indonesian DX market based on the strengths and synergy of LG CNS and the Sinar Mas Group and provide differentiated IT solutions to customers."
