Kate Middleton, British Crown Princess, Reveals Battle in March
"Finally Completed Chemotherapy Treatment," She Shares on SNS
"Cancer Journey Is Scary and Unpredictable for Everyone"
Kate Middleton, wife of William, the Prince of Wales, has reportedly completed her cancer chemotherapy treatment. On this day, the Princess of Wales posted a video with her voice on X (formerly Twitter), saying, "As summer comes to an end, I am relieved to finally say that I have completed chemotherapy treatment." She added, "I will do what I can to live cancer-free," and "Although I have finished chemotherapy, the journey to full recovery is long, and I must continue to face each coming day."

This video message came about five months after the Princess of Wales announced on March 22 that she was undergoing cancer treatment following her diagnosis. In the video at that time, she explained that cancer was discovered during tests after abdominal surgery in January. On this day, the Princess also said, "If possible, I look forward to returning to work within a few months and being able to do more." However, the BBC reported, "Kensington Palace currently finds it difficult to say whether the Princess of Wales is cancer-free at this stage."
The Princess of Wales, who was usually very active, has not appeared in public since the Christmas event last December, leading to various rumors spreading on social media. At that time, a Spanish broadcaster claimed, "The Princess of Wales experienced a major crisis after abdominal surgery," adding, "The surgery went well, but serious complications occurred, and medical staff put the Princess under general anesthesia and even intubated her." Citing these claims, rumors such as 'Princess of Wales in critical condition' and 'coma rumors' circulated online. To quell these rumors, the Princess released a family photo in March with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, but controversy grew after it was revealed that the photo had been manipulated.
However, after publicly disclosing her cancer diagnosis, conspiracy theories subsided, and the Princess of Wales made rare public appearances. She attended the official birthday event of her father-in-law, King Charles III, the Trooping the Colour ceremony, on June 15, and on July 14, she presented the trophy to the winner at the Wimbledon tennis final, which she sponsors. She is also expected to attend several more public events, including the Remembrance Day ceremony and Christmas carol performances in November.
In the video, the Princess said, "The past nine months have been very difficult for our family," adding, "Life can change in an instant, and we had to find a way to navigate through the stormy seas and paths." She continued, "The cancer journey is complex, frightening, and unpredictable for everyone," and encouraged other cancer patients by saying, "I am with you. Light can shine through the darkness, so let that light shine."
