400kg of Rice Received for Opening Ceremony Delivered to Elderly Living Alone and Other Marginalized Groups
A local clinic director has drawn attention by delivering rice, received as a congratulatory gift for the clinic's opening, to underprivileged groups such as elderly people living alone. From the beginning, the director requested that instead of flower wreaths or potted plants, rice would be a welcome gift.
Pivvi Clinic (Chief Director: Bae Seoyeop), which recently opened, delivered 400 kg of rice to the Hwamyeong 3-dong Administrative Welfare Center on the 9th.
Located in Hwamyeong-dong, Busan, Pivvi Clinic specializes in laser treatments, medical skincare, botox, fillers, anti-aging, and laser lifting, and opened its doors on the 2nd.
Bae Seoyeop, the chief director, was always concerned about the flower wreaths and potted plants that fill the workplaces of acquaintances who open new businesses or clinics, knowing they would eventually be discarded.
Director Bae thought that while receiving congratulations with lavishly decorated flowers and announcing the opening externally is important, it would be more meaningful to promote the clinic in a way that could help neighbors, so he chose to practice good deeds.
Upon hearing Director Bae's wishes, acquaintances contributed rice as gifts, and with the addition of Director Bae's own donation, a total of 400 kg was collected.
The rice delivered to the Hwamyeong 3-dong Administrative Welfare Center will be distributed to households such as elderly people living alone before Chuseok.
Bae Seoyeop, the chief director, said, "As I was opening a dermatology clinic in Hwamyeong-dong, I thought about what special thing I could do. Most people receive congratulatory flower wreaths or potted plants and display them in the clinic, but I wanted to do something more meaningful for the local community, so I asked my acquaintances to congratulate me with rice instead."
He continued, "I am happy that we can donate the rice collected in this way to those in need before the holiday. Starting with this, I promise to provide heartfelt care and medical services to deliver joy to everyone who visits Pivvi Clinic."
Director Seo Yeop Bae of Five B Clinic is delivering 400kg of rice collected as a grand opening gift to the Hwamyung 3-dong Administrative Welfare Center.
