Gangdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Suhee) will officially launch the "Chuseok Holiday Comprehensive Plan" for seven days from the 13th to the 19th to ensure that residents can spend a safe and comfortable Chuseok holiday.

During the holiday period, a comprehensive situation room and sector-specific task forces will operate within the Gangdong-gu Office. A total of 153 staff members will work in shifts day and night to maintain a rapid response system for emergencies in each sector. The focus areas are five key sectors closely related to residents' lives: livelihood, transportation, daily life, and safety.

Before and after the holiday, monetary gifts will be delivered to low-income marginalized groups and welfare facilities for the disabled. Plans also include checking on children at risk of food insecurity and elderly living alone, providing tailored support for the homeless, and strengthening monitoring activities against harmful environments for youth. A price control situation room will be operated to specially manage Chuseok seasonal goods, and a "Sister City Specialty Products Direct Market" will be held to allow residents to purchase excellent local specialties at affordable prices.

To prevent inconvenience for holiday travelers using public transportation, operating hours will be extended. On the 17th and 18th of this month, when return traffic demand peaks, all subway lines and two city bus routes, 3214 and 3220, will operate until 2 a.m. Additionally, two schools and seven public parking lots will be opened free of charge to provide parking convenience.

Through the operation of a cleaning situation room, resident inconvenience related to garbage collection will be minimized. Prior to the holiday, inspections will be conducted on various flood control facilities and flood-vulnerable sites, as well as frequently used cultural and sports facilities, religious facilities, and multiple-use facilities, along with joint inspections of various construction sites to thoroughly prepare against safety accidents.

From the 13th to the 18th, in case of emergency patients, residents can receive guidance on medical institutions on duty and pharmacies operated by them through the Gangdong-gu Public Health Center’s medical guidance team, Dasan Call Center, Health and Welfare Call Center, and Emergency Situation Management Center. The health center’s clinic will also operate separately to provide public medical services for residents in vulnerable areas. The clinic’s operating days will be extended from one day to three days, running from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the 15th, 17th, and 18th.

The district will also do its best to facilitate residents' daily lives by operating a total of 17 unmanned civil service issuance machines installed throughout the district normally during the holiday period, allowing easy issuance of 121 types of documents.

In addition, the district will hold various Chuseok events such as the "Traditional Market Event," "Seoul Amsa-dong Historic Site Chuseok Festival," and "Chuseok Traditional Games Festival," offering residents a variety of enjoyable activities.

Yoon Hee-eun, head of the Planning and Budget Division of Gangdong-gu, said, "We have prepared a comprehensive plan so that residents can enjoy a joyful and comfortable Chuseok holiday with their families," and added, "We will thoroughly maintain the emergency duty system to ensure a prompt response in case of emergencies."
