Namyangju Dasan New Town Gateway Migeum-ro '2 Lanes to 4 Lanes' Expansion Planned

Namyangju Dasan New Town Gateway Migeum-ro '2 Lanes to 4 Lanes' Expansion Planned

The expansion construction of 'Migeum-ro,' the gateway to Dasan New Town in Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, is being promoted.

Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH) announced on the 10th that the metropolitan traffic improvement plan for expanding the lanes of Migeum-ro, the gateway road to Dasan New Town, from 2 lanes to 4 lanes, has been approved by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

Migeum-ro is a narrow road with 2 lanes in both directions, causing frequent traffic congestion and bottlenecks. Recently, with the influx of residents into Dasan New Town, traffic volume has significantly increased, making lane expansion and other improvement measures urgent.

GH, the project implementer of Dasan New Town, proposed the Migeum-ro expansion project as part of the metropolitan traffic improvement plan after several working-level consultations with related organizations such as Namyangju-si to establish funding sharing plans and project promotion systems.

Kim Se-yong, president of GH, emphasized, "In future 3rd phase new town projects, we will not be builders who only develop and leave, but will fulfill the role of a town manager by listening to the voices of local residents and actively resolving inconveniences even in the final stages of the project as the project implementer."

Meanwhile, GH expects that the metropolitan traffic improvement plan for the Migeum-ro expansion will dramatically improve traffic inconveniences experienced not only by residents of Dasan New Town but also by local residents.
